MEET
LEXI CARDEN

Hey everyone, I'm Literally Lexi. My name is Alexis, but I go by Lexi, literally. I'm passionate about a lot of things in my life: God, music, fashion, science, dance, travel, and art - in that order.

So I've been through a lot of schooling...

I grew up in a small town in north-central Texas. After I graduated high school in 2014, I moved 6 hours west to attend Texas Tech University. I graduated in 2018 with a B.A. in Journalism. Writing has always been a passion of mine, and I even got professional experience working as a reporter at the student newspaper.

During my Tech years, I was a member of anything and everything band-related - I play the flute and piccolo. Let's just say I've been a huge band nerd since my first day of 6th grade.

After my undergrad years, I moved 13 hours east to attend Mississippi State University for graduate school. I earned my M.S. in Geosciences - concentrating in climatology - in 2020. I've been a nerd about meteorology/climatology since I was a kid. I'd choose to watch The Weather Channel more than cartoons, and could tell you supercell structure and dynamics before I was even a teen!

I have a lot of hobbies...

Ever since I was little, I've been a dancer, being studio trained in all types of styles from ballet to hip hop, tap to jazz, clogging to kickline, pom to lyrical, I've done it all. I even danced in the London New Year's Day Parade in 2014 when I earned my spot on the NDA All American Dance Team. Restarting my passion again, in the past year, I've started performing (and competing) on a clogging team. I've loved every second of it.

I'm also an artist, and have loved art since I was little. Pencil and paper sketching is my favorite, and best, medium. I also dabble in other areas including watercolor painting, digital art and graphics design.

I am also huge into fashion, another lifelong hobby (I blame it on my Barbie and Bratz doll-obsessed childhood). You could describe my personal fashion taste as retro trendy. I love mixing old trends with new trends - my favorite fashion era is the late 80's-early 90's. My love of thrifting started when I went to college, and it never stopped. I can talk about fashion for hours. I was even in a fashion-related sorority in college.

You could call me a globetrotter...

Another thing that makes me me is how I love traveling. Growing up with adventurous parents meant spending my summer vacations trekking along the Rockies, cruising across the Caribbean, tent camping in National Parks, and exploring the sights along the western slab of Route 66. I've been in 22 different states, and spent time in 5 different countries.

Overall, I'm very passionate about the things in my life, and I really love being able to share them with all y'all.
